Appleblossom Rosebud (1870)
This much sought after variety dates back to Victorian days, but whenever it is seen we are always asked “is it new?”! We have a large area in our stock houses of just this one variety and it looks a real picture during the summer months. It is a good sturdy grower and the flowers open up just like Appleblossom – with a greenish centre, white petals and pink edging to each petal – a very beautiful variety.

Ben Nevis (J Payne 1986)

Our best white dwarf - excellent as a compliment to any colour scheme.

Elmsett (R Bidwell 1981)

Large double flower heads splashed and speckled in red against lovely golden foliage. Ray Bidwell introduced many successful varieties over the years.

Florist Carnations
If you like cut flowers then have a go at growing some of these. Easy to grow, these are the flower arrangers delight, with their wonderful ability to flower 12 months of the year (although to achieve flowers 12 months of the year a heated greenhouse or conservatory is required. An unheated environment is fine but winter flowers won't be achieved) They come in a wide range of colours and each is individually labelled.

Frank Headley (Headley 1957)

This one flowers and flowers - very attractive dawn pink blooms on a silver and green foliage - it also has a nice bushy growth habit. Very good for bedding out in a border.

	It took me months to realise the link in the name of this variety ... of course, it’s obvious ... it’s the Angel Gabriel! This is the pinkest of the Angels that we’ve ever seen.

Mrs Salter Bevis

Tight rosebuds of deep scarlet. Another very old variety that has maintained it’s popularity.

Here you can have the best of both worlds! A pale pink tight rosebud flowerhead against superb golden bronze foliage….lovely!

	White Eggshell
	A super variety and one to grow in a smallish pot and show off on a windowsill or on the centre of the garden table – it grows in a compact bushy manner and the pretty flowers are white with speckles and strips of red. Very, very pretty.
