A recent introduction and we just love this colouring. White flowers which are marked and feathered in strawberry pink - lovely. Penstemons are hard to beat - we love them. They are so easy to grow and flower over a long period. The best thing is that they are hardy so with no attention at all they pop back up the following year and flower all over again for you! Pot up plugs into 9cm pots and grow them on in warm frost free conditions for transplanting later on. When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Transplant penstemon plants into borders and containers in a sunny or semi shaded position.
Feed and water plants frequently whilst they are getting established. Deadhead faded flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. A little trim in April every year will keep them in shape.
