Fuchsia 'Hardy Collection'

Hardy Shrub

We all love fuchsias in our garden - such pretty flowers. These are the hardy ones you can grow and forget about ... which is ideal! Plant out in the garden at the end of May (July at the latest) in your chosen position and they’ll come back next year after the frosts have gone. Always one of our most popular collections, comprising 3 plants each of Delta's Sarah, Army Nurse and Shrimp Cocktail.

Culinary information: Some parts of these flowers are edible. Click here for more details about edible flowers.

Pot up plugs and grow them on until large enough to plant outside in their final positions. Pinch out the growing points where stems have more than 2 sets of leaves, while the plants are still small. This will encourage the plants to produce more stems, making a bushier plant with more flowers. Grow hardy fuchsias in containers or borders, in any moist, well drained soil. Position in a sunny or semi shaded site which is protected from cold winds over winter.
When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise fuchsia plants to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days. For their final position, grow fuchsia plants in a sunny or semi shaded site. Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. Deadhead faded fuchsia flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced.
We will do our best to ship your plants or bulbs to you at the ideal time for planting as stated against each product. We recommend that you prepare your soil, planting beds or patio containers ahead of time so you are ready to plant out, or pot on, just as soon as your order arrives. You will find the name of the variety printed on the top line of the address label on your package. Please ensure that you open the packaging immediately and carefully read through the instruction leaflet provided. For greatest success, please pot on or plant out as soon as possible, following the cultural instructions enclosed with your order.
